Today is World Mental Health Day, and we want to share a little about the positive impact that dogs can have on mental health.
Research shows that interacting with dogs can reduce stress and provide other benefits for mental health. Through our programs we are able to interact with all different types of people in our community and brighten up their day, and our Paws to Comfort therapy dog teams are specially trained to provide support for people who have experienced a crisis or traumatic event.
Dogs can make a big difference for crisis intervention and trauma recovery, and we are proud to provide this support to those who need it most in our community. To learn more about our Paws to Comfort program, visit our program page here.
