Paws & Think Executive Director and founder Gayle Hutchens recently received the 2009 “Governor’s Award for Service Learning” for her long-standing commitment to volunteerism and serving others. The award was presented to Gayle at a special luncheon ceremony by First Lady Cheri Daniels, wife of Governor Mitch Daniels, and Miss America Katie Stam. Gayle was nominated for this honor by Paws & Think volunteer John Vernon Oaks, who stated “The four programs of Paws & Think provide a Win, Win, Win, Win for at-risk youth, shelter/rescue dogs at-risk of euthanasia, children and adults with disabilities, and our communities.” Congratulations to Gayle on this wonderful honor!
