Whitney Stevens-McBride
Whitney Stevens-McBride is the Volunteer Services and Resource Development Coordinator. Prior to Paws & Think, she was the Development Associate at the St. Joseph Institute for the Deaf, a local Indianapolis non-profit organization. She brings knowledge of volunteer management, fundraising and marketing to the Paws & Think team.
Whitney was born and raised in Indiana and lives with her husband and 2-year-old English Cream Golden Retriever, Lola Belle, in Westfield. She’s a graduate of IUPUI with a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs/Non-Profit Management. She recently received her Certificate of Fundraising Management (CFRM) from the Lilly School of Philanthropy in February 2022.
She joined Paws & Think due to its mission and loves to advocate for their work. “Seeing the faces of the kids light up when they meet a therapy dog is so special and will always pull at my heart strings,” she said. “I also really like the Youth-Canine Programs because it’s not only beneficial for the children and teens, but it also helps the dogs in the shelter get adopted into their forever homes!”
In her spare time, Whitney and her husband love to take Lola to parks and other dog-friendly places. She describes Lola as her “best friend” and a complete “wiggle butt” who she hopes to eventually enroll in the Paws & Think training program to become a therapy team. Whitney also loves to read, binge watch Netflix shows with her husband, go to dinner with friends and spend time with family.
