Lauren Colbert
Lauren Colbert got involved with Paws & Think because she wanted a way to give back to a community that has given so much to her – and she thought there was no better way to do that than through the love of dogs. She says she knew she wanted to share the amazing love that her dog, Chloe, shows her every day with others who needed it, and so she and Chloe became a Paws & Think therapy team together.
Lauren describes herself as both a people person and a dog person, a perfect mix for an organization like Paws & Think. She has worked with animals for over a decade and especially loves dogs. She first started working with dogs in high school, and she went to the Paragon School of Pet Grooming in Michigan before going on to own her own pet grooming business. Lauren mentions that running her own grooming salon inside an animal hospital has given her many opportunities to learn about dogs and their behavior.
In addition to volunteering as a therapy team, Lauren serves in a variety of roles for Paws & Think and helps manage incoming phone calls, assists with therapy team assessment calls, and is a Volunteer Ambassador for new therapy teams. In her free time she loves to hike and camp with Chloe and her other two dogs, Piper and Murphy. She recently finished converting a school bus into an RV and cannot wait for all the adventures it will bring!
