“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” -Helen Keller
We are extremely saddened about the recent and unexpected death of therapy dog Dickens. Dickens and his handler, Carol Davenport, have been longtime Paws & Think volunteers. Together, they visited many senior living facilities and were one of our first READ certified teams. As a Paws to Read team, they were regulars at schools like IPS 34 and Deer Run Elementary. They also visited at the Washington Woods and Pike libraries.
This video is from our Volunteer Appreciation Event in 2016. Dickens was highlighted during the video. He truly was made to be a reading dog. Thank you Carol for sharing your wonderful boy with so many. He will be missed and remembered fondly.
