I have a 10 year old female Havanese who goes with me to the nursing home to see my Dad. She is very sweet and gentle and many of the residents have requested she see them individually. Should I get her ‘certified’ or have some kind of special training? I plan to take her to the home even after my father is no longer a resident.
Also, we live in Louisville KY. Do you know of any place around us that trains? I searched the akc and you are the closest.
Thanks very much for you time,

We definitely recommend that you registere with an organization such as WAGS or a national group like Pet Partners, as they provide liability insurance for your protection.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our Pet Therapy Director, Kathy Janes, at

      Thank you!
