Walk-A-Thon
Paws and Think has several programs for at-risk youth to train puppies and dogs from shelters to become service dogs for children and adults with disabilities or special needs. The at-risk youths…who are educationally-emotionally challenged, incarcerated, pregnant, or are at-risk of suicide…learn life skills as they train their dogs. The training that the youth provide to the dogs helps make the dogs more adoptable, and they are thus spared from euthanasia. The Paws and Think programs are a win:win:win:win for the at-risk youths, the at-risk dogs, the individuals with special needs, and the communities in which they reside. Proceeds from the Walk will support these programs.
